Our Story
Hydrohelpers was founded in March 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a small lunch program to help combat child hunger in our community quickly grew into a broader network of support as the needs of our neighbors evolved.
The name Hydrohelpers reflects how we approach our work. Like water, we adapt. We change form to meet the needs of the community and respond where help is needed most.
Throughout the pandemic and beyond, Hydrohelpers has continued to evolve in response to emerging challenges. During the infant formula shortage, volunteers traveled to other parts of Ohio to bring formula back to Central Ohio so families could feed their babies. When utility disconnections and evictions began increasing, we created a mutual aid network to help families manage urgent, short-term emergencies.
A core part of our work is building strong relationships with grassroots groups and nonprofit organizations across the community. Through these partnerships, we help connect people to resources that are often free or available at very low cost.
Over the past two years, Hydrohelpers has focused heavily on addressing food insecurity and advocating for housing stability. Our volunteers regularly serve throughout the community by providing free hot meals along with toiletries, hygiene supplies, feminine hygiene products, and other essential items.
Hydrohelpers exists because we believe community care matters. When people are facing hardship, support should be accessible, compassionate, and immediate. By working together with our community partners and volunteers, we strive to ensure that no one has to navigate these challenges alone.

Supporting the community one mission at a time, one serve at a time
Hydrohelpers is a grassroots organization based in Central Ohio that responds to the changing needs of our community. From providing free hot meals and hygiene supplies to supporting families through emergency mutual aid and housing advocacy, we work to make sure no one has to face hardship alone.
Because when a community takes care of each other, everyone is stronger.
